Lanta Street - the highstreet of Avonmore - is full of small quirky shops that you probably wouldn't find anywhere else - selling everything from kitchenware to clothing. Most are family owned businesses. The street is often busy with locals and some tourists, especially in summertime.

One of the many pubs around Avonmore, The Cherry Tree is run by a rather grumpy barman who will serve anyone as long as they have the money to pay.

A popular tearoom in the centre of Avonmore, this serves any number of beverages and snacks to it's customers. The inside leaves something to be desired, but it's a nice place to sit and relax with a friend, and there are tables outside for warm weather.

» avonmore parish church
This church is open all hours of the day to anyone who fancies a bit of spiritual enlightenment. It's an old stone building that has been here for over a hundred years, as the graveyard attached will prove. The graveyard is a wooded, grassy area which the public are free to visit, there are even benches placed around the site for people too overwhelmed to walk. Even so, it's usually a pretty quiet place.
